Virginia Mae (Jewell) Stecki, age 89, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 while in the care of the Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Andover, Ohio, after battling several long-term illnesses. Virginia was born on August 12, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Beulah Jewell (Steadman). She later relocated with her husband and family to Ashtabula in 1969 and has been a local resident since.
Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed providing a loving home for her children and grandchildren. She always went out of her way to make sure her loved ones were taken care of and put their wants and needs before her own and she was a truly selfless individual. Her interests included watching westerns, crocheting, knitting, sewing, the Cleveland Indians, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Virginia is survived by three sons, George (Regina) Stecki Jr. of Ashtabula, John Stecki of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Ben Stecki Sr. of Ashtabula; one daughter, Kathy (Mike) Headley of Greenville, Pennsylvania; six grandsons, Luke, Matthew, Alexander Jr., J.P., Ben Jr. and Kaylor; three granddaughters, Tiffany, Stacy and Tabitha; ten great-grandchildren; her brother, Fred (Rita) Jewell; and several nieces.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George E.J. Stecki Sr. a son, Alexander W. Stecki; brothers, Clayton and Paul; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia (Heim) Stecki.
At her request, no service will be performed and there will be a private interment at Edgewood Cemetery.
