Thomas McCumber, Sr.

Thomas McCumber, Sr., age 89, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Villa on the Lake in Conneaut, Ohio.  He was born September 2, 1931 in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Raised by Martha Gill, Thomas graduated from Harbor High School in Ashtabula.   After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and retired after 25 years of service.  He was employed and retired from Oglebay Norton Shipping as a mechanic.  Thomas married Janis Buzzard on December 26, 1955. He was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Ashtabula.  He enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife, Janis; daughter, Rosanne (Robert) Barton of Big Spring, Texas; son, Thomas (Debbie) McCumber, Jr., of Kingsville, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; son, Edward; and sisters, Dorothy Gill and Betty Ellis.

Services will be held at a later date.
