SAYBROOK - Robert (Bob) A. Erwin, 60, passed away at his home unexpectedly on August 10, 2020. He lived most of his life in the Geneva area, graduating from Geneva High School in 1978. He received his LPN license from Knoedler School of Practical Nursing, and later earned his RN license from University of the State of New York. He worked as an RN for Memorial Hospital of Geneva and later for The American Red Cross as a supervisor. For many years, he owned and operated the Putt-Putt Golf course at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
He was married to Brenda McCracken and they had three beautiful children together. Being a father and grandparent brought him a lot of joy. He was immensely proud of his children and their accomplishments.
Bob enjoyed watching sports and never missed a Cleveland Indians game. He enjoyed working on cars and reminiscing by campfires with his good friend, Dale Loveland. When illness limited his activities, he enjoyed relaxing at his lakeview home with his beloved cat, Patches.
Bob had a warm personality. He loved to joke around and laugh. He will be missed deeply.
Bob is survived by his mother, Barbara Blake; brother, Mike (Janet) Erwin; children, Jason Erwin, Jenna (Ivan) Mendoza, and Lindsey Erwin; grandchildren, Russell and Thalia Mendoza; and several cousins, relatives, and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Monte Erwin.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 5380 Savannah Drive, Ashtabula, Ohio.
His family extends a special thanks to David Potti at Potti Funeral Home for going above and beyond to help Bob’s family during this trying time.
