Paul was not only a gifted artist and adventurer but also a wonderful neighbor and friend. I moved next to his art studio at Saybrook on the Lake in 2009 and visited with him in the summers. He was a young ninety year old, sharp of mind and interesting. We shared property boundaries and he kept me up on the neighborhood when I returned each summer. He was sad when remaining contemporaries of his passed away... he gave me a signed copy of his beautiful book of art and love, “Norma and Me”... Paul was a philanthropist as well. All of his art and properties he left to the Ashtabula Arts Center. Someone should have interview him and made a screenplay of his life. I’m very sad to hear of the passing of Paul. May he Rest In Peace. Gerri Campbell

Paul was a huge inspiration to me growing up and my earliest introduction to art. My family's cottage is across from his sculptural house. From the time I was a little girl to when I was in art school, I used to stop by to say Hi with my grandmother when she was alive- He and Norma were very very kind and worldly people. They shared a truly beautiful life. I am glad I was able to sit down with him one last time. He will be fondly remembered by many.

I took care of Paul when I worked at Silver Sands and he was such an amazing man.. I could sit there for hours, looking at all of his heart, and just listening to him talk about what each piece meant to him and all the things he had done in life.. He was such a fighter and he will be truly missed.. I'm soo grateful to have met and known him ❤❤

I wish I had known where he was... I tried to call him and his number had changed and I saw him last summer at the art studio Ann’s he gave me his new number but I left a message once but didn’t get a call back... I hope he was comfortable and enjoyed his last days. A wonderful man isn’t high enough compliment. When my mother was taking an art class at Kent State in his early days I remember my mom saying what a great artist he was... I wish I had asked him if he would have remember her but I never did... it was an honor to know him...
