MaryLou (Gorski) Salvatore, 84, died peacefully on May 5, 2021 in Saybrook, Ohio. She was born May 27, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Laura Gorski.
MaryLou loved music and dancing and had worked as a dance instructor for Fred Astaire Dance Studio. She graduated from Lakeland Community College where she earned a nursing degree. Her hobbies included painting, reading and crocheting. She loved time with her children and grandchildren.
A devoted Catholic all her life, she was active in all the parishes of which she was a member as lecturer, Eucharistic minister, and cantor. She had belonged to St. Jude Parish in Columbiana, and Our Lady of Peace Parish in Ashtabula for 10 years.
MaryLou was preceded in death by her parents; her six sisters, Florence Thiel, Eleanor Sopata, Helen Sopp, Dolores Sopata, Leona Watroba, and Charlotte Vondrak, and her grandson, Phillip Grim.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas Salvatore, Debra (David) Grim, and Christine (Donald) Koch; grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony Salvatore, Ryan and David Grim, and Johnathan (Angela), Maria and Francis Koch; and great-grandchildren, Bethany, Abigail and Emerson Koch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Parish Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 West 6th Street, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2000 West 19th Street, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
