Mary Rachel Luster, "Rachel", as she was known to family and friends, passed away in her home at age 90, peacefully during her sleep, in the early morning of July 20th, 2022.
Born in Clarksville, Tennessee on May 27, 1932 to Harold and Madeline (Turner) Montgomery, Rachel spent the last 71 years with her loving husband, Bob. She was a mother of four (Mary Ann, Barbara, Bobby and Cindy), grandmother of seven (Dale, Billy, Geoffrey, Ryan, Shawn, Ricky and Robbie), and great-grandmother of three (Kendra, Zoey and Ophelia).
Rachel was known for her love of painting, as anyone who visited her home in Ashtabula, Ohio, could see from the beautiful mural-covered foyer, halls or bedroom walls–and even paintings of rugs upon the hardwood floors. Her husband would often depend upon her abilities whenever his own crafts and carvings needed bringing to life with her artistic touch. Together, they brought color and life to every inch of their home, inside and out, with their artistic joint efforts.
Rachel was also known for calling friends and family in her address book, daily, to check in and let them know she was thinking of them. With her deep belief and adoration for angels, we’re sure she now walks among them.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob); daughters, Mary Ann Luster and Lucinda Marie Martin; son, Robert Philip Luster; grandchildren, Dale, Robbie, Geoffrey, Ryan, and William Bendula, and Rick Frano; and great grandchildren, Zoe, Ophelia and Kendra Bendula.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
