Lila Jean (Salem) Peters

Lila Jean Peters, 79, died November 25, 2021 at  Austinburg Rehabilitation Center in Austinburg, Ohio.  Born May 14, 1942 in Jefferson, Ohio, the daughter of Sam and Julia (George) Salem, she had resided in Ashtabula County throughout her life.  

Lila attended Lenox  Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1961.  She lived part of her life in Ashtabula with her sister, where she met her husband, Don Peters.  She then resided in Ashtabula Harbor with her husband.  Lila was a housewife and had worked for attorneys Jack and Joseph Mahoney in Ashtabula. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Tisha Bernard of Ashtabula; sisters, Patty Brooks of Arizona, Josephine Elliott of Youngstown, Rose Saylor of Conneaut, and Alice Tucker of Austinburg; and her husband (divorced), Don Peters.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe, Jim and George Salem; and son, Don Peters in 1964.

Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 in Edgewood Cemetery, 4011 State Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
