Leslie James, 60, was reunited with her Heavenly and Earthly fathers on June 26, 2022. A lifetime Ohio resident, she resided in Ashtabula for almost 30 years, after leaving her hometown of Lisbon, Ohio.
A graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon, Ohio, Leslie entered the law enforcement field as a police dispatcher in Columbiana, before relocating to a dispatcher role for the Painesville Police Department.
Leslie was predeceased by her father, Richard “Dick” James, and grandparents, William and Ada James and Glennis Study. Leslie leaves behind, the love of her life, husband, Carlos Carr; mother, Barbara; sisters, Lynne and Lisa; brothers, Rick and Lee; bonus daughter, Linde; eight nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews; and three great-great nieces. Leslie also leaves behind her fur baby, Whiskers.
Leslie loved her family and friends and was fiercely loyal.
Through the years, she enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, golfing, Cedar Point, and volunteering at the American Legion. Leslie will be dearly missed and always remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in memory of Leslie James to the Harbor Cat Rescue, 1016 Joseph Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Leslie on Saturday, July 16, 2-5 p.m. at the American Legion Post #103, 1804 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, Ohio. As a tribute to Leslie’s love of lighthouses and all things nautical, the family requests all guests to wear navy blue and white or nautical attire.
