Janis E. (Buzzard) MCumber

Janis E. McCumber, 85, passed away March 15, 2022 at Villa at the Lake in Conneaut, Ohio.  She was born June 3, 1936 in Wayne Township, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Wilsie (Richardson) Buzzard.

Janis graduated from Ashtabula Harbor High School in 1954 and LPN school in 1971.  She was a lifetime member of Second Congregational Church in Ashtabula Harbor, where she was involved in Choir and Ladies Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McCumber, Sr., whom she married December 26, 1955 and celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2019; her parents; son, Edward; and sister, Jane Lesperance.

Janis is survived by her daughter, Rosanne (Robert) Barton of Big Spring, Texas; son, Thomas McCumber, Jr. (Debbie) of Kingsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Kimberly (Dale) Carey and Robert (Patty) Barton of Texas, and TJ (Alexis) McCumber and  Andrew (Kelly) McCumber of Kingsville, Ohio; eight great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Pahel of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family extends special thanks to The Villa of Conneaut staff for Janis's excellent care.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio, with Rev. Robert Falke officiating.
