Helen Louise (Williamson) Fairchild

Helen Louise Fairchild was born Helen Louise Williamson on November 19, 1933 and left this earth on December 2, 2023. She was 90 years old. Helen lived a long and beautiful life in Ashtabula County. Throughout her life, she certainly had her share of hardships, but she faced every adversity with strength and grace. She enjoyed all the scenery and tranquility of the area she called home for so many years. She would often visit the many covered bridges, beaches, and Ashtabula Harbor until her health prevented such outings.

Helen was active in the local community through her work with a variety of groups including her church leadership board, the Edgewood High School Alumni group, and her retirement group. She valued the friendships she made and maintained through her participation in these groups. She graduated from Edgewood High School. After many years of service, Helen retired from Premix Inc. She enjoyed maintaining the friendships she made during her time there.

Helen’s husband, James Fairchild, her two beautiful daughters, Patsy Carol Fairchild and Sharon Lynn Fairchild. as well as her great granddaughter, Holli Marie, preceded her in death. In the face of such tragedy, she leaned into her proud Finnish heritage and demonstrated her commitment to her family through her quiet strength, and unwavering resolve. She was, and will always be, a true example of beauty, strength, and calm.

She is survived by her son, William Douglas Fairchild; granddaughters, Machelle Marie Reed and Angela Marie Guthrie; and great grandchildren, Joseph Douglas, Nathan James, Madeline Mary, Joshua Lawrence, William Henry Douglas, and Gabriella Marie. She also leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren by love, Heidi Andrews and Jason Hill and their children Jake, Griffin, Cooper, and Hurley.

Helen is survived by her sisters, Esther (Ida) Post and Billie Williamson. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Moore, Mary Aitken, and Nancy Wick.

Helen Louise Fairchild was a loving, kind, beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
