Donnie Gene Brunell, age 65, of Ashtabula, died Friday, January 17, 2020 in the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio with his family at his side. Born February 24, 1954 in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Wilbert O. and Margaret (Shauberger) Brunell.
Donnie attended school in Kingsville, Ohio and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1972. He resided in Kingsville the majority of his life, and had lived a few years in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was employed at Famous Supply Enterprises for over 20 years and considered them as family.
He loved the time he spent with his daughter and took pride in baking her birthday cake every year. They enjoyed fishing, hiking, taking trips in his Jeep with the top down and singing, going to festivals, and taking long walks together. Donnie was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. He also enjoyed cooking, baking, motorcycles, rock and oldies music, his cat, Abby, and the time he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Lynn of Conneaut; and six sisters, Janice Paananen of Ashtabula, Sara Steward of Jefferson, Betty Wheeler of Sheffield, his twin, Connie Monda of Pinnellas Park, Florida, Cheryl Clark of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Lorrie Emery of Conneaut,
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald, in 1982; and his sisters, Janet Louise (in infancy), and Linda Brown, in 1993.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
