Thomas M. Lawrence

Thomas Lawrence, age 76, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.  He was born June 30, 1942 in Ashtabula OH, the son of Sam and Maxine (Hites) Puskas.

He graduated from Ashtabula Harbor High School in 1960.  Tom was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Millennium Inorganic Chemicals Plant 1 for over 30 years prior to retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the American Legion.

He loved old cars and his 1949 Pontiac was his pride and joy. He enjoyed car shows with his friends. While his children were growing up, he was very involved in PTO and band boosters.  He took pride in his grandchildren, attending their activities while they were growing up. He loved breakfast with the guys every morning.  He was known as a jokester to those that knew him and he loved to socialize with everyone he met.

Tom is survived by his wife, Shirlee (Cusano); children, Kelly (Bart) Kanicki of Pierpont OH, Tim (Valerie) Lawrence of Ashtabula OH, and Marissa (Doug) Kenny of Provincetown MA; grandchildren, Tori and Cody Kanicki, Aaron Lawrence, Tabitha Searles, Matt Krause, Steve and Joe Kenny, and Heather Kleps; 12 great grandchildren; step sister, Jane Puskas of Rock Hill SC; uncle, Arnold Myllymaki of Ashtabula OH, and cousin, Craig (Candy) Myllymaki of Cape Coral FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his aunts, Joann and Virginia.

A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Potti Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula OH.
