Clara Vance, age 89, of Ashtabula, died Tuesday October 9, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville of a longtime illness. She was born September 15, 1929 in Caldwell, West Virginia, the daughter of Ira (Archie)and Lilly (Reed)Vance. She was an Ashtabula resident for many years and a housewife and homemaker.
Clara was a fun-loving person, always making folks laugh. She loved country music, doing the Hillbilly Stomp, and having a few beers. Most of all, she loved her children and grandbabies. Clara was a loving, giving person who will be sadly missed. She was the light at the end of the tunnel.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Vance and Rebecca Cardona; son, Frank (Anita) Vance; sister, Pearl Morris; brother, Gus Vance; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wardell; daughters, Eva Keene and Bonnie Brenwald; sister, Reva Ward; and brothers, Richard, Guy, Walter, Bob, and Charlie.
Funeral services are 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 13th at Potti Funeral Home and Cremation Service,1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula. Calling hours are 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday.
