Carmel Barbato Obituary

Carmel A. Barbato, age 90, of Ashtabula, passed away May 20, 2018 at Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born May 16, 1928 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Mary (Mauro) and Pasquale Barbato.

She had worked as a secretary for the Department of the U.S. Navy. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Mt. Carmel Parish, Anita Garibaldi Lodge, and Altar and Rosary Society.

Carmel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dominic Barbato and Carman Barbato; and sisters, Marge Barbato and Teresa Barbato Wallent.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30th at Our Lady of Peace Mt. Carmel Parish. Calling hour will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Potti Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, OH is handling arrangements. www.pottifuneralhome.com
