Burchel Lee Blevins

Burchel Lee Blevins, 62, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born on April 20, 1956 in Ashtabula, the son of Hershel and Magaline (Hall) Blevins.

Burchel worked for the past 27 years in the security department of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant until his retirement in May of 2017. Prior to that he worked for several years at The Arthur Louis Steel Co. and was also a past auxiliary deputy at the Ashtabula County Sheriffs Department. On July 17, 1992 he married the love of his life, Kathleen J. Copeland; his loving and devoted wife of almost 26 years. Burchel liked to trap shoot and he loved to sing and play the guitar in the "Blevins Brothers Blue Grass Band". He was a hard worker, a devoted family man, and a friend to many. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife Kathleen; his step children: Georgia Truckey-Reyes and James Truckey; his siblings: James (Peggy) Blevins, Clyde (Sharon) Blevins, Clounia Blevins and Hershel (Sharyn) Blevins; his step-grandchildren: Michael & David DeJesus, Katieleigh & Leland Velazquez, and Brandon and Ava Truckey; 7 step great-grandchildren; his nieces LeeAnn Wofford and Nicole Blevins; and his nephew Cody Blevins and great nephew Robbie Caruthers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt Surilda "Teen" Hall and uncle Pearl "Dick" Hall

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m.Saturday, May 19, . at Potti Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, with Pastor Robert Falke of The Church of the Living God officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home
