Bette Huskonen Obituary

Bette J. Huskonen, age 79, of Ashtabula OH, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Saybrook Landing. She was born April 3, 1938 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Vaino Mackey and Anna (Muhonen) Mackey.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Sedmak of Ashtabula OH and Terri Kirk of Warren OH; ten grandchildren, Thomas Gillispie, Samantha Carino, Alexandra Shultz, Jamie Shultz, Windy Huskonen, Kevin Huskonen, Benjamin Sedmak, Stefanie (David) Wood, Larry Kirk, and Terri Kirk; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Clyde Huskonen; son, Clyde Huskonen Jr.; daughter, Janice Schultz; brother, William Mackey; and sisters, Anna Goebel, Si Robinson, and Karen Massi.

Bette graduated from Harbor High School in 1955, a first generation Finn. She was a homemaker and talented seamstress and later in life worked at Brunner's and Sports and Sports. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, camping, cooking and bird watching. A talented quilter, she spent many hours creating special gifts for loved ones. She was an active member of Saybrook Grange.
