Deborah Anne O’Brien, age 54, died suddenly on August 30th, 2023 at her home in Concord Township, OH. Deborah considered Chardon, OH her home, where she wed her husband of 32 years, Hugh O’Brien. After the birth of her twin sons, she chose to stay at home to be mother and teacher. A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, she was an active member of Leroy Community Chapel. A lifelong learner, she taught and impacted generations of children and adults in her 30+ years of service. She enjoyed gardening, making jewelry, cards, and many other crafts.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard T. Vacca, and mother “Bunny” (Hitchcock) Vacca. She is survived by her husband, Hugh; sons, Callahan and Duncan; sister, Lisa (Steve) Strausbaugh; brother, Mark (Heidi) Vacca; stepmother, Evelyn Vacca; and many nieces and nephews. She was particularly looking forward to the marriage of Duncan to his fiancée, Hallee Bradac.
Calling hours will be held 2-6 p.m. Thursday, September 7th, 2023, at Leroy Community Chapel, 12920 Painesville-Warren Road, Painesville, OH 44077. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:30 pm. The service will be streamed on the church website: www.leroychapel.org.
